Galen E. Treadgold, VP, Global Geophysical Services Galen Treadgold, vice president of Weinman GeoScience (a division of Global Geophysical), received a BS in Geology and Marine Science in 1982 from the University of Miami before starting his geophysical studies at the University of Texas at Austin and receiving an MA in Geology/Geophysics in 1985. Galen joined ARCO that same year and over the next 15 years worked in various technology, exploration and management positions including coordinating AVO projects, teaching the first ARCO AVO school, managing the ARCO British technology group and managing ARCO's Trinidad and Venezuela exploration effort. In 2000, Galen joined Weinman GeoScience where he's held the position of chief geophysicist and now, vice president. Galen's main interests are unconventional reservoir characterization using geophysics and azimuthal analysis for fracture detection. Dr. Norm Warpinski, Director of Technology, Pinnacle - A Halliburton Service Norm Warpinksi is a Halliburton Fellow and is the Director of Technology for Pinnacle - A Halliburton Service in Houston, Texas, where he is in charge of developing new tools and analyses for hydraulic fracture mapping, reservoir monitoring, hydraulic fracture design and analysis, and integrated solutions for reservoir development. He joined Pinnacle in 2005 after previously working as a Senior Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories from 1977 to 2005 on various projects in oil and gas, geothermal, carbon sequestration, waste repositories, and other geomechanics issues. Norm has extensive experience in various types of hydraulic fracture mapping and modeling and has been involved in large scale field experiments from both the hardware and software sides. He has also worked on formation evaluation, geomechanics, natural fractures, in situ stresses, rock behavior and rock testing. He received his MS and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois, Champaign/Urbana in 1973 and 1977, respectively, after receiving a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1971. | |
Rick Wilkerson, President and Managing Partner, Velocity Midstream Partners LLC Rick Wilkerson, President, Velocity Midstream Partners, has served in his current capacity since October of 2008. Mr. Wilkerson is responsible for Velocity's strategic direction and heads Velocity business development efforts. Velocity currently owns and operates two gas gathering systems in East Texas and is constructing new assets in the western portion of the Eagle Ford play. Prior to starting Velocity Midstream (May 2005 until October 2008), Mr. Wilkerson was a Partner and Vice President in two private equity-backed midstream partnerships with assets and efforts focused in the Granite Wash and East Texas. From January 2001 until April 2005, Mr. Wilkerson was Director of Business Development for eLynx, a subsidiary of American Central Gas Gathering. Rick began his career in the oil and gas industry with Samson Resources in January 1991. While at Samson, Mr. Wilkerson held various positions primarily focused on gas transportation and processing agreements, oil and gas reserves, financial analysis, drilling economics, and acquisitions.
