An industry veteran of more than 32 years, Kevin Schepel brought his vast knowledge base of experience in drilling operations and formation evaluation to ZaZa Energy, when he joined the company in June 2010. Schepel began his career after graduation from Michigan State University with a 15-year stint at Exxon, working onshore and offshore exploration and then domestic and international research applications in Houston. Subsequently, he served as chief petrophysicist for BHP Petroleum and as vice president of worldwide exploitation for Pioneer Natural Resources from 1998 to 2008. Schepel is a member of AAPG, SPE, and SPWLA. He has served on the board of directors for the Louisiana Independent Oil & Gas Association and the Advisory Council for the Energy Forum Unconventional Resource Series. He is licensed by the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists.
